DHAKA: Title favourites Chelsea drew 1-1 with 10-man Manchester City after Frank Lampard came off the bench to salvage a point for the hosts.

Two second-half substitutes scored as the points were shared after a keenly contested match in Manchester.

Andre Schurrle appeared to have set the Blues on our way to a consecutive league win on this ground with 20 minutes to go when as at Burnley, he finished a fine move.

The home side had only just been reduced to 10 men with Pablo Zabaleta dismissed to increase Chelsea hopes, but after Diego Costa had gone within a whisker of extending the lead, instead striking woodwork, it left the way clear for Frank Lampard to rescue Man City, doing what he has done so many times in the darker blue, arriving at the right moment in the box to score.

The first half had been one of more bookings than clear-cur chances, the second period was more open, and it was a match that did not do disservice to its billing as a clash of two Premier League heavyweights.
