KHULNA: Bangladesh lead has crossed the 300-run mark, thanks to Mahmudullah’s restrained batting, on day-5 in their second innings of the second test against Zimbabwe in Khulna on Friday.

Bangladesh have lost 7 wickets to score 235 at the end of 80-over in the match of Bashundhara Cement Test Series at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium.

Mahmudullah and Shuvagata Hom resumed their innings on Friday with their respective 63 and 23 runs. Mahmudullah scored 71-run before returning to pavilion while Shuvagata Hom is still on the crease with 45-run.

Before going back to pavilion, Tamim Iqbal scored 20, Shamsur Rahman 23 and Mominul Haque 54.

Mominul Haque, with the innings, became the quickest Bangladesh batsman to reach 1000 Test runs.

MN Waller bagged four wickets while N M’shangwe picked up two and Panyangara took one wicket.

Tigers restricted Zimbabwe within 368 runs despite Masakadza scored 158 and Chakava 101 runs.

All rounder Shakib Al Hasan bagged 5-wicket for the 13th time of his career.

Bowling hero of the first match of Bashundhara Cement Test Series Taijul Islam took three and Rubel Hossain got two wickets.

In the first innings, Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan scored 109 and 137 respectively while Mahmudullah Riyad scored 56-run helping Bangladesh to post 433-run.

On October 27, Bangladesh won the first Test match by three wickets at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
