West Indies facing Zimbabwe bowling

DHAKA: West Indies are batting against Zimbabwe bowling in the team’s ICC Cricket World Cup Pool B match at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Tuesday.

The match kicked off at 9:30am Bangladesh time.

Till filling this report, West Indies scored 16 runs for a loss in 5 overs.

Earlier West Indies won the toss and elected to bat.

DR Smith and CH Gayle began the Caribbean’s opening. T Panyangara made DR Smith walked to the pavilion in fist ball of the match. MN Samuels has been accompanying CH Gayle since then.

This match is a must-win one for both teams to go up on the point table as they have a winning each.

After being defeated by Ireland, West Indies won over Pakistan on their second match. Zimbabwe beat the United Arabs Emirates but lost to South Africa.

West Indies captain Jason Holder was happy with the team's middle-order form. He said: "It's very good to see that [Chris Gayle] still hasn't fired and we're still getting 300 runs. I guess when his contribution comes, we'll get somewhere close to 400, hopefully."

"It's the biggest ground I've been on so far. I've been in New Zealand the whole time, so yeah, it's a bit of a change for us." Hamilton Masakadza, on the size of the Manuka Oval outfield.
