DHAKA: Ireland finally reached the winning 279–run target set by United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the 16th Match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 with four balls remaining because of Kevin O’Brien and Gary Wilson.

Kevin O’Brien’s 50-run off 25-ball and nuggety wicketkeeper Gary Wilson’s 80-run off 69-ball helped beat UAE by two wickets in at Brisbane on Wednesday.

UAE bowler Amjad Javed took three-wicket while Mohammad Naveed and Mohammad Tauqir grabbed two wickets each. AM Guruge took the other wicket.

Earlier in the day, Ireland captain William Porterfield won the toss and invited UAE to bat at Brisbane Cricket Ground in Woolloongabba of Brisbane.

Shaiman Anwar’s rapid ton helped UAE to score 278 for nine wickets in their stipulated 50-over at Brisbane.

Shaiman Anwar scored 106 runs off 83 balls. Amjad Ali and Amjad Javed contributed 45 runs off 71 balls and 42 runs off 35 balls erspectively. Khurram Khan added 36 runs off 53 balls.
   
Ireland’s MC Sorensen, AR Cusack, PR Stirling, and KJ O'Brien took two wickets each while GH Dockrell bagged one.

This was the first match at Brisbane in this World.
