Bangladesh confirm quarterfinal

DHAKA: Bangladesh confirmed quarterfinal and knocked out England with a sensational 15-run victory in the Pool A match of ICC World Cup 2015 at Adelaide Oval on Monday.

In response to Bangladeshi-set 276-run target, England lost all wickets to score 260 runs with 9 balls remaining.

J Buttler was the highest scorer for England with 65-run off 52-ball while Ian Bell and C Woakes amassed 63 and 42 runs.

Rubel Hossain was the star bowler, who took four crucial wickets, including the last two, giving away only 53-run in 9.3 overs.

M Mortaza and Taskin Ahmed shared two wickets each while two English batsmen ran themselves out.

Earlier in the day, England won the toss and elected to bowl first against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh managed to score 275-run in the crucial match which was virtually a knock out for both teams.

Mahmudullah Riyadh bagged the first ever century for him and for Bangladesh team in World Cup.

He scored 103 runs of 138 balls with seven boundaries and two over boundaries before going back to pavilion.

Mushfiqur Rahim played a mesmerizing innings of 89-run off 77-ball and Soumya scored 40 runs helping the team to pose a fighting total of 275 runs.

Anderson and Jordan bagged two-wicket each while Broad and Moeen Ali took one wicket each.

Pool A has been decided now, with Bangladesh, Australia, Sri Lanka and New Zealand qualified into the quarter finals.
