DHAKA: Bangladesh cricket team captain Mashrafe Mortaza expressed his happiness with overall team performance during the ICC Cricket World Cup.

While sharing their World Cup experience, he told the media at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport that they tried to play at their level best.

“If we can hold the uptrend of the performance graph, we will be able to go forward,” he added.

The helmsman of Bangladesh team also hailed his team members including Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfique, Rubel and Sabbir for their respective performance in the World Cup matches.

On Bangladesh’s defeat in their last match against India, the captain commented: “If we got those wickets then, we could win the match, I believe.”

Bangladesh national cricket team returned home on Sunday evening from Australia wrapping up a successful World Cup mission.

Earlier on Sunday evening, an Emirates flight carrying the Tigers landed at the airport.

They received a warm reception of thousands of fans, who had been waiting from hours carrying banners, festoons and chanting slogans for the heroes.

Bangladesh’s World Cup mission ended on March 19 after a controversial defeat against India in quarterfinals.
