Kiwis enter maiden WC final

DHAKA: New Zealand confirmed their maiden entry into World Cup Final clinching a thrilling four-wicket victory over South Africa at Eden Park, Auckland Tuesday.

Kiwis made a flying start and reached the wining milestone with one ball remaining while chasing the 298-run adjusted target (D/L method).

Elliott scored not out 84, McCullum and Anderson scored 59 and 58 runs respectively to lead the team to a much awaited moment.

Earlier, South Africa captain AB de Villiers on the toss and opted to bat.

In the rain delayed match, Proteas earned 281 in 43-over as Plessis scored 82 runs and De Villiers 65.

Kiwi bowler Anderson and Boult bagged three and two wickets respectively.
