Tigresses beat Zimbabwe by 8-wicket

DHAKA: Bangladesh Women team whitewashed the visiting Zimbabwe Women team in the two-match T20 series by winning the second T20 match by 8-wicket at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.

Tigress captain Jahanara Alam won the toss and invited the visitors to bat first.

Zimbabwe Women scored a modest 69-run losing six wickets after their quota of 20-over. SM Mayers was the top scorer with 21-run while P Marange gathered 16-run.

Jahanara Alam was the most successful among tigress bowlers. She took three wickets while Panna Ghosh and Rumana Ahmed took one each.

Hosts scored 70-run losing only two wickets in 11.5-over. Opener Ayasha Rahman was the top scorer with 28-run. Shaila Sharmin and Rumana Ahmed scored 23 and 12 runs respectively.
