DHAKA: The High court on Tuesday granted bail to cricketer Shahadat Hossain Rajib till March 31 in a case ‘for torturing domestic help’.

An HC bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Amir Hossain passed the bail order at noon.

Meanwhile, on December 1, a Dhaka court granted bail to Shahadat Hossain Rajib’s wife Jesmin Jahan Nitya, another accused of the case.

Earlier on October 5, Shahadat surrendered before the CMM Court in a case filed on allegation of ‘torturing domestic help’ and filed a bail petition.

Later, a Dhaka court sent him to jail rejecting his bail petition.

On September 6, an 11-year-old domestic help Mahfuza Akter Happy was found injured in Kalshi Journalist residential area in city.
