DHAKA: The next SAFF Championship will be held in Bangladesh. The 12th edition of tournament of South Asian countries will be held in 2017.

The decision has taken in a meeting of South Asian Football Federation held at Kerala on Saturday.

On Sunday, India beat defending champions Afghanistan 2-1 in the finale of this year’s SAFF Championship and lifted the South Asian Football Federation Cup for the seventh time through a dominating display.

Afghanistan Football Federation has already decided to pull out of the next SAFF Championship.

Earlier, Bangladesh hosted SAFF Championships in 2003 and 2009.

India will again host the tournament in 2019.
