Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 6-wkt

DHAKA: Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by six wickets with four balls remaining in the 10th match of Asia Cup-2016 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur in city on Friday (March 04).

Winning the toss, Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi invited Lankans to bat first in the dead rubber as far as the tournament is concerned.

Sri Lanka scored 150-run losing four wickets from their 20-over quota. T Dilshan hit an unbeaten 75-run while LD Chandimal 58-run helped Lankans reaching the score.

Mohammad Irfan picked up two wickets while Wahab Riaz and Shoaib Malik took one wickets each.

In response, Pakistan chased down the target of 151-run losing only four wickets in 19.2-over.

Umar Akmal was the top scorer with 48-run while Sarfraz Ahmed and Sharjeel Khan scored 38 and 31 runs respectively.

Of the Lankan bowlers, KMDN Kulasekara, DSNFG Jayasuriya, TM Dilshan and TAM Siriwardana took one wicket each.

Despite a dead rubber, both the teams treated the match with utmost seriousness looking ahead to the World T20.

Pakistan brought three changes -- Khurram, Sami and Anwar Ali were left out. Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim and Iftikhar Ahmed were in.

D Chandimal will captain the match for Sri Lanka as Angelo Mathews has been suffering from a calf strain. Niroshan Dickwella comes in his place.
