DHAKA: West Indies Women have beaten Australia Women by eight wickets to clinch maiden ICC World T20 title.

Winning the toss, Australia opted to bat first and scored 148 runs losing five wickets in stipulated 20-over at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Sunday afternoon (April 3).

Villani hit 52, Lanning 52 and Perry 28 runs.

Chasing 149-run target, West Indies Women reached to victory losing only two wickets with three balls remaining.

Mathews hit 66 and Taylor’s 59 lead the team towards maiden title win.
