England claims 2nd victory against Pakistan

DHAKA: England triumphed against Pakistan the second One Day International as well to claim their 2-0 lead in the five match series on Saturday (August 27).

Their four wicked victory was eased by Joe Root’s fourth consecutive fifty plus score overshadowing Sarfraz’s ton.

Pakistan have won the toss and decided to bat first. They ere bowled out for 251 in 49.5 over in front of England’s controlled bowling.       

Visitors lost their top four batsmen for 66, among them; the first 3 scored a mere 1 conjointly. Sarfraz build the defense and smashed his second ODI century. His 105 came from 130 balls, six boundaries adorned his innings.

Imad Wasim smashed 63 from 70 balls and remained unbeaten. Babar Azam scored 30 while Shoaib Mailk managed 28 runs.

Wood and Woakes claimed 3 wickets each, Plunkett claimed 2 wickets.

Pakistan rocked England early by returning Jason Roy empty handed, his partner Hales also returned cheap with 14 runs.

Skipper Morgan and Root steered English innings form there. This partnership produced 112 in 21.3 overs making their chase a piece of cake.

Root, top scored with 89 runs, his 105 balls innings was decorated with five boundaries; on the other hand, Morgan hit nine fours for his 80 balls 68 run innings. Ali finished the job with an unbeaten 21 run to ensure victory with 15 balls to spare.

Imad wasim claimed two wickets for Pakistan.

Root was adjudged as Man of the Match.
