ECB announces Test, ODI squad for Bangladesh tour

DHAKA: The England Cricket Board (ECB) on Friday announced their Test and One Day International (ODI) squads for the much-awaited Bangladesh tour.

The 39-year old off-spinner Gareth Batty has been recalled after more than a decade. His latest appearance was also against the Tigers in 2005.

Batty will compete against Zafar Ansari for a spin-bowling berth. England's selectors admire Zafar Ansari’s all-round potential. He has claimed 22 wickets at 31.40 in the last home season.

Widely anticipated Lancashire opener Haseeb Hameed has been named as Alastair Cook’s latest partner.

Haseeb, who was described by Michael Vaughen as a “fine young player”, has impressed with his tight technique and unflustered temperament.

England's stand-in one-day captain Jos Buttler is back in the Test squad for the first time since last tour of UAE.
