BCB astonished over PCB’s suspension of Bangladesh tour

DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed astonishment over Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s sudden decision that postponed their tour to Bangladesh this year indefinitely.

PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan said that they have taken the decision based on mutual consent after holding a meeting with BCB officials on the sidelines of ICC (International Cricket Council) meeting in Dubai, reports espncricinfo.

Pakistan was scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs and a T20I series in Bangladesh in July and August as per Future Tour Plan (FTP).

Meanwhile, BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus said, “We were confirmed even one month back that Pakistan will tour Bangladesh. We are astonished by such a decision from them suddenly.”

However, PCB did not send any official letter regarding their decision, added Jalal.

For latest, Bangladesh played a series of five-match ODI series in Pakistan in 2008. Later, Pakistan visited Bangladesh in 2011 and 2015.

Earlier, PCB invited Bangladesh to play a series of two T20s there in 2017 which was not accepted by BCB.
