DHAKA: Cyber Crimes Tribunal of Dhaka has framed charges against accused cricketer Arafat Sunny in a case filed by his alleged wife under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.

Judge Saiful Islam of the Tribunal started the trail proceedings by framing charges after hearing on Thursday (Oct 12).

The court also fixed Nov 21 for taking testimony in the case. Sunny and his alleged wife both were present in court.

Earlier on January 5, Nasrin Sultana, who claimed to be Sunny’s wife, filed a case with Mohammadpur police station under ICT Act. Police arrested Sunny from Savar’s Aminbazar area on Jan 22. After spending 53 days in jail, Sunny gets bail on March 15.

On March 22, Mohammadpur police station SI and probe officer of the case Mohammad Yahya submitted the charge-sheet in Dhaka’s CMM court. Later the case was transferred to CCT.
