DHAKA: Mushfiqur Rahim’s unbeaten 219 helped Bangladesh declare their first innings at a massive 522 for 7 in the second and final Test match against Zimbabwe on Monday.
The visitors took 25 runs for one at stumps on day-two at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
Mushfiq bagged is the first Test double-hundred of 2018 and the highest score recorded by a Bangladesh batsman in Tests. He also became the first wicketkeeper in Test history to hit two double-tons.
He scored 219 off 421 deliveries with 18 fours and one six.
Miraz was another hero of the day scoring his second Test half-century. He scored not out 68 off 102 balls.
On the first day Mominul was out in the last hour for 161, but Mushfiqur remained unbeaten on 111. Mahmudullah also took responsible 35 off 104 deliveries with three boundaries.
Kyle Jarvis captured five wickets for 71 runs while Tendai Chatara and Donald Tiripano took one wicket each for 34 and 65 runs respectively for the visiting side in the innings.
