DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI with the excellent centuries of Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar beat visiting West Indies by 51 runs in Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method in the practice match held on Thursday (December 6) at BKSP ground in Savar.
In response to the responsible target of 332 runs set by West Indies, Bangladesh XI scored 314 for 6 in 41 overs as bad light forced to stop the play.
Tamim Iqbal scored 107 runs off 73 balls in his come back match. After Tamim had gone to pavilion, Soumya Sarkar took the lead role and took unbeaten 103 off 83 balls. Mashrafe remained unbeaten with 22 runs.
Earlier, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted a massive total of 331 for 8 from their stipulated 50 overs.
Rubel Hossain, Nazmul Islam and Mehedi Hasan Rana bagged two wickets each.
Bangladesh and West Indies are set to play their first ODI at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur on Sunday (December 9).
