DHAKA: The country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group received “Best patron for sports” award, for the year 2018, by Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA). 

Tamim Iqbal bagged the popular choice award while Mushfiqur Rahim was named cricketer of the year.

Shooter Abdullah Hel Baki bagged the player of the year award.

Topu Barman (football), Shapla Akhter (badminton), Sirat Jinnat Swapna (promising footballer), Mehedi Hasan Alvi (tennis) and Golam Rabbani Chotan (football coach) received the awards in distinctive categories.

The recipients were handed over the awards at a graceful ceremony at Sonargaon hotel in Dhaka Saturday (April 6) night, with Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzak as the chief guest.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel and Bangladesh Olympic Association Vice President Anjan Chowdhury attended the ceremony as special guests.
