South Africa invite Sri Lanka to bat

DHAKA: South Africa have won the toss and elected to field against Sri Lanka in the 35th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Riverside Ground, Chester-Le-Street on Friday (June 28).

The do-or-die encounter for South Africa is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm (Bangladesh Time).

"It's a fresh pitch, so we'll be looking to use the seam movement early today," says Faf du Plessis after winning the toss.

"We wanted to bat first, seems like a good track and we feel we can put a good score and defend that. One change for us, Suranga Lakmal comes in for Nuwan Pradeep. We just want to win this match and see how the next two games unfold," adds Dimuth Karunaratne.
