DHAKA: Hosts England have set a massive 338-run target for India in the 38th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Edgbaston on Sunday (June 30).
Opener JM Bairstow 111 off 109 balls in 10 boundaries and 6 sixes and BA Stokes’ 79 off 54 balls from 6 boundaries and 3 sixes powered the hosts to post 337 runs.
Earlier, Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy (66 off 57) gave them a blistering start before Mohammed Shami's five-for pegged them back.
For India, Mohammed Shami bagged five-wicket haul for 69 while JJ Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each.
After winning the toss, English skipper Eoin Morgan said, “It's a matter of two games, hopefully we'll win the two games and go through. Tough challenge against India. The wicket looks good, doesn't look like it'll turn much.”
Virat Kohli says, “Never a problem, love chasing. But honestly, would have batted first as well. We haven't chased after the first game, so it's a good challenge for us. We might have looked to do that in the last couple of games anyway. We haven't really focused on the opposition till now in the tournament. We've been finding ways to win games, that's the biggest positive for us.
