Afghanistan cricket team arrive

DHAKA: Afghanistan cricket team arrived in Dhaka Friday (August 30) morning to play lone test match against hosts Bangladesh and a tri-nation T20 series here. The other team of the series is Zimbabwe.

After a short stopover at Shahjalal International Airport, the team, led by Rashid Khan, will fly for Chattogram on a fight of NOVOAIR to play a two-day practice match against BCB XI there on September 1-2.

Later, Afghanistan will face off Bangladesh in their lone test match at Jahur Ahemd Chowdhury Stadium on September 5-9.

Zimbabwe team are likely to arrive Dhaka on September 8 to play the tri-nation series, stated to begin on September 13.

Earlier on August 20, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced squads for next month's only Test against Bangladesh and the T20I tri-series involving Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.

Afghanistan Test squad: Rashid Khan (C), Asghar Afghan, Mohammad Nabi, Ihsanullah Janat, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Ikram Ali Khil, Zahir Khan, Javed Ahmadi, Sayed Shirzad, Yameen Ahmadzai, Afsar Zazai, Shapoor Zadran, Qais Ahmad.

Afghanistan T20I squad: Rashid Khan (C), Asghar Afghan, Mohammad Nabi, Hazratullah Zazai, Najeeb Tarakai, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Najibullah Zadran, Shahidullah Kamal, Karim Janat, Gulbadin Naib, Farid Ahmad Malik, Shafiqullah Shafaq, Fazal Niazai, Dawlat Zadran, Naveen ul Haq, Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
