DHAKA: Bangladesh National Women Cricket team qualified for their second successive Women’s World Twenty20 (WWT20) by reaching the final of World Cup Qualifiers.
Tigresses defeated Ireland Women by four wickets in the semifinals of the World T20 Qualifiers in Dundee, Scotland on Thursday (Sep 5).
Winning the toss, Ireland Women elected to bat first and then Bangladesh bowler Fahima Khatun damaged the Ireland bating line-up by picking up three wickets for 18 runs in four overs.
Besides, Jahanara Alam, Nahida Akter, Salma Khatun and Ritu Moni bagged a wicket each.
Chasing the poor target, Bangladesh’s Sanjida Islam has scored an unbeaten 32 to reach her team the final with nine balls to spare.
