DHAKA: Afghan's 92 and Rashid's maiden half century helped Afghanistan score 342 in the first innings of the only Test against hosts Bangladesh in Chattogram on Friday (Sep 6).

The hosts started the day brightly as they picked up quick wickets of the well-set Asghar Afgan and Afsar Zazai early on in the session.

Taijul Islam scalped Asghar Afghan, who was on 88 overnight, after adding just four more runs.

Later, Shakib Al Hasan removed debutant Qais Ahmed and Yamin Ahmadzai. 

Rashid Khan hits his maiden Test fifty with three sixes and two fours.  

Afghanistan added 71 runs in 21 overs, before losing their remaining five wickets. 

Taijul Islam bagged four wickets while Shakib and Nayeem Hasan took two each.

Mehidy Hasan bundles Afghanistan up as their last wicket falls with Rashid Khan departing for 51. Afghanistan are 342-all out after 117 overs.

Earleir at the end of Day 1 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on Thursday (Sep 5), Afghanistan finished at 271/5 with Asghar Afghan leading from the crease with an unbeaten 88* along with Afsar Zazai on the other side, who’s on 35*.

After the early departures of the openers, Rahmat Shah’s 102, the first Test ton by an Afghanistan batsman led the Afghanistan charge from the middle against the Bangladesh spinners.
