DHAKA: Bangladesh T20 and Test captain Shakib Al Hasan has said he accepted International Cricket Council (ICC)’s punishment for breaching its code of conduct.
“I completely accept my sanction for not reporting the approaches…the ICC ACU is reliant on players to play a central part in the fight against corruption and I didn’t do my duty in this instance,” he added.
“Hope no promising young player make the same mistake,” Shakib said during a briefing at Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) office on Tuesday (October 29).
In a speech to journalists and supporters, he said the way you supported me, I hope it will return stronger.
ICC banned all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan from all cricket for two years, with one year of that suspended, after he accepted three charges of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.
