DHAKA: Weightlifter Mabia Akter Simanta secured gold medal for Bangladesh in the 13th South Asian Games in Pokhara on Saturday (Dec 07).  

She lifted a total 185kg in the women's 76kg weight category.

Bangladeshi athlete Mabia Akter also won gold medal in 63kg (women) weightlifting event at the 2016 South Asian Games in India.

Bangladesh won a total five gold medals so far after three gold medals in karate and one in taekwondo. Weightlifters earned total four silver medals in three days.
