Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the most successful ODI captain of Bangladesh Cricket Team, has turned 37 on Monday (October 5).

Mashrafe was born on October 5, 1983 in Narail District. His father is a businessman and the mother a housewife. He married Sumona Haque, from the same district, in 2006.  

The couple is blessed with a son and a daughter.

The former Bangladesh national cricket team captain is an icon to the young generation, in both terms of his professional and personal lives. 

Reporters haven’t forgotten his crying, as injury left him outside the field during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in Bangladesh.

In 2015, he ascended team Bangladesh in the Cricket World Cup as a captain of Bangladesh.

In this long successful career, he has overcome many ups and downs, injuries on his knees and ankles, to be more precise.

The right-arm pacer, popularly called as ‘Narail Express’, has played 36 Tests, 179 ODI, and 52 T20Is. 

The successful captain of the Bangladesh team has been elected MP from Narail-2 constituency in the Eleventh Parliamentary Election.

Though Mashrafe avoids the formality of his birthday, fans and teammates do not remain silent. They are greeting him through social media.
