Dream11 IPL 2020. 49th Match
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) VS Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
Played at DSC Dubai on 29 October, 2020

Brief Scorecard:
CSK 178/4 (RD Gaikwad 72, AT Rayadu 38, R Jadeja 31*, Varun 2/20 Cummins 2/31) beat KKR 172/5 (N Rana 87, Shubman Gill 26, KD Karthik 21*, L Ngidi 2/34) by 6 wickets

Player of The Match: Ruturaj Gaikwad.

CSK is already out of any contention of a business session in IPL 2020. But KKR could consolidate their position among the top four if they could win yesterday. It was a close match last night at DSC Dubai till the 18th over. Scoring 172/4 and almost restricting CSK in their chase KKR seemingly castled CSK. But Indian all rounder Ravindra Jadeja appearing at his best denied KKR. Scoring unbeaten 31 runs in only 11 deliveries and specifically striking two massive sixes off the last two deliveries of the match of KL Nagarkoti he snatched the match from the grasp of KKR. With 10 points in 13 matches CSK still remains at the bottom. But the loss has complicated the case of KKR. They must win their last match against RR and wait for other matches going in their favor.

Earlier winning the toss MSD elected to field. Shubman Gill (26) and N Rana (87) made a reasonably good opening partnership of 53 in 8 overs before KV Sharma removed Gill. Rana went on playing the sheet anchors role. But none else could contribute much as CSK bowlers bowled with passion and fielders meant business. However, 172/5 by any means was a competitive score. KKR was hoping for a win. L Ngidi took 2 wickets giving away 34 runs.

CSK was playing for pride. Gaikwad who battled with CORONA at the start of the tournament was looking solid even though Watson could not stay longer with him. However, 50 runs opening partnership laid some foundation.  Gaikwad (72) and Rayadu (38) producing 68 runs in the second wicket created launching pad for CSK middle order. But Aussie speedster Cummins and Indian new sensation Varun taking 3 quick wickets almost stalled the progress of CSK. At 4/140 in the 18th over KKR appeared to achieve their target. However, two all rounder Jadeja and Curran deprived KKR smashing 38 runs in the remaining 2.4 overs. Jadeja struck two massive sixes off the last two balls of the match in his 11 ball unbeaten 31. CSK won by 6 wickets. This win might not have changed the fate of CSK but has definitely hurt KKR. Their chances for a place among the top four now hangs on a balance.
