Brief Scorecard:
Pakistan 208/4 in 35.2 Overs (Babar Azam 77*, Imam –ul Haq 49, Haidar Ali 29, Iftikhar Ahmed 16*, Chisoro 2/49) beat Zimbabwe 206 All Out in 45.1 Overs (SC Williams 75, BRM Taylor 36, BB Chari 25, Iftikhar Ahmed 5/40, Muhammad Musa 2/21) by 6 wickets
Player of The Match: Iftikhar Ahmed

Poor Zimbabwe proved no match for strong Pakistan as vintage Babar Azam producing yet another quality innings of 77* championed Pakistan chase of meager Zimbabwean score of 206 overwhelmed scoring 208/4 with 14 overs to play. Pakistan wrapped up yet another ICC Men’s world cup super league series 2-0 with another match yet to play. In the first match it was left arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah, yesterday it was off spinner Iftikhar Ahmed (5/40) who wrecked Zimbabwe batting. On a batting friendly wicket 207 was a nothing target for strong Pakistan against a medicore attack.

The tourist electing to bat immediately ran into trouble as Haris Rauf and debutant Musa within 9th over reduced them to 2/27. From there, the tourist never recovered against top quality Pakistan attack of pace and spin. Their veteran batsmen Williams (75) and Taylor (36) tried resurrecting their innings with 60 runs 4th wicket partnership. Williams was looking good in his 70 balls innings of 75 comprising of 10 fours and a six. Both were undone by brilliant Iftikhar turning and fighting his spinners well on the day. His 5/40 led to wrapping up the Zimbabwean innings for mere 206 in 45.1 overs. Debutant Musa took 2/21.

It was a cakewalk chase for strong Pakistan batting line up. Yet their openers Imam –ul-Haq and Abid proceeded cautiously putting together 68 in the first wicket partnership when Abid fell to spinner Chisoro. Babar joined Imam and was looking in glorious touch timing the ball exceedingly well from the word go. However, Imam became the next victim of Chisoro scoring 49. Pakistan let debutant Haider Ali bat at number four. In his brief innings of 29 he gave impression of his quality. Babar went on in his merry mood producing yet another innings of quality. His unbeaten 77 in 74 deliveries ensured that Pakistan wrapped up the series 2-0 in style. Iftikhar along with Fahim Ashraf and Imad Wasim is another inclusion of bits and pieces player in Pakistan’s armory.  Pakistan is too good for poor Zimbabwe.
