Dream 11 IPL 2020, 54th Match
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Vs Rajasthan Royals (RR) Played at DSC Dubai on 1 November 2020
Brief Scorecard:
KKR 191/7 (EJG Morgan 68*, RA Tripathi 39, Shubman Gill 36, AD Russel 25, R Tewatia 3/25, Kathik Tyagi 2/36) beat RR 131/9 (JC Buttler 35, R Tewatia 31, S Gopal 23*, PJ Cummins 4/34, Shibam Mavi 2/15, CV Varun 2/20) by 60 Runs

A big win by 60runs of Kolkata Knight Riders against Rajasthan Royals gave lifeline to them in IPL 2020. The remaining matches would decide whether they could stay of leave home empty handed.

Anyway, a win is a win and KKR did everything right winning big and improving their NRR. Batting first KKR batted with passion posting an impressive score of 191/7. Then their super catch Aussie speedster Cummins producing his best 4/34 ensured that Uthappa, Stokes and Smith cannot spread their kings to challenge the chase. Royals of Rajasthan could not do what CSK did earlier on the day dying and taking KKIP along with them in the grave. KKR winning by 60 runs joined RCB and DC bracketed with 14 points each in 14 matches.  RR could go as far as 131 /9 still a long way to go.

KKR in IPL 2020 did not start well and looked pretty ordinary in the first round. After making changes in leadership they started looking towards the middle of the second round and started winning. It is to be seen in two days whether their win today is too little too late. Either RCB or Dc has to lose big in their respective last encounter for KKR to scrap through. A hope against hope.

On the day batting with resolve KKR put up a very impressive 191/7. Captain Morgan batted in his own flamboyant style producing unbeaten 68, Tripathi (39) , Gill (36) and Russell (25) made useful contributions. R Tewatia 3/25 and Karthik Tyagi 2/36 were the wicket takers for the Royals.

KKR bowlers looked penetrative from the word go. Their high valued Australian catch Cummins bowled with venom taking the cream out of RR batting. Losing Stokes, Smith and Uthappa early RR innings could not get any momentum. Cummins taking 4 /34 did the damage. Mavi (2/15) and Varun (2/20) also proved difficult customers. RR could reach 131 /9 in their allotted overs. KKR could reach 4th spot. But a win by SRH in their last match can still let them go home unless either DC or RCB loose big in their respective encounter. Till then they have to keep guessing.
