Dhaka and Barishal are teams those limped into business session looked very ordinary throughout the initial stage of the tournament. Yet they advanced to the first eliminator. Dhaka winning the thriller by 9 runs elbowed out Barisal winning a date with Chattogram for a birth to the Final against Khulna. 

The match never attained the height that was expected. Dhaka batting first could post a below par 150/8 in allotted overs. However, smart bowling by Dhaka pacers restricted Barishal to 141 /9.

Dhaka innings started disastrously as Naim, Al –Amin Sabbir were removed in the first power play for only 22 on board. This brought in Mushfique and Yasir two steady performers at the wicket together to resurrect. The pair was looking great till scoring 50 for the partnership. A sudden rush of blood my Mushfique let him throw his wicket for 43. From there on Yasir and Akbar could hold the fort for a while. But none of the reaming batsmen could stay longer as Dhaka innings by the end of their allotted overs reached 150/8. Yasir scored 54 of 43 deliveries and Akbar scored 21. 6 batsmen could not even reach double figure. Mehedy Miraj (2/23) and Kamrul Rabbi (2/40) were the peak of the bowlers. Dhaka score definitely looked at least 25-30 runs below par.

Yet smart team bowling made Barisal batsmen huff and puff. Tamim possibly was not 100 percent. His tortoise slow innings 22 in 28 deliveries stalled the momentum of the innings.  Three young guns Saif, Emon and Hridoy failed to fire. The best of Afif 55 in 35 deliveries was just not enough to take Barisal across as Mukhtar Ali (3/18), Shafiqul Islam (3/39) and Al-Amin (2/22) did the squeeze. Dhaka won by 9 runs. 

Dhaka would not play against Chattogram in the second qualifier today for a place in the final against Khulna
