What happened at Adelaide Oval today was Australian Kangaroos Indain Lambs Slaughtering. It is not that in has not happened in the past and there is no guarantee that it would not happen again sooner or later. But what happened this afternoon was Aussie speedsters Hazelwood and Cummins slaughtering Indian batsmen like lambs in the slaughterhouse. 

India at stumps of day two was comfortably placed 62 runs ahead with 9 second innings wicket to add on. Pain and Langer possibly slept cool with pain few doses of sleeping pill. Who knew what would the staged in the afternoon of day three? 

In a dramatic turnaround in the 7th session of pink ball day night test of Border Gavaskar Vodaphone series powerful Indian bating got shocked and awed succumbing to their lowest ever test innings 36. Cricinfo termed it “Murder in the Catherdal.” The drama that TS Elliot wrote in 1935. 

Hazzelwood and Cummins unleashed one of the devastating spells of fast and accurate pace bowling avalanche in the history of test cricket. The same pair did it at Leeds Ashes test in 2019. South African seamers crashed Australia for 47 at Cape Town in 2011. A person called Curtly Ambrose unleashed a magical spell of 7 for 1 of the 1992 Perth Test of Frank Worrell Trophy in 1992-93. 

Test Crickets 10 Low Scoring Innings: 

India Australia 2020 test series is tipped as the most fascinating contest between the two top dogs in the context of Test Championship. India with their best ever pace bowling combination dared playing day night cricket with pink ball. India has only played one such test against Test Cricket minnows Bangladesh. Australia is far more experienced. Moreover, this was their first ever Kookaburra Pink Ball match. India also did not play any longer version international or domestic cricket for almost a year. Make not excuse of these. 

India was in reasonable advantage at stumps on day two. Had not India caught in Hazelwood Cummins Tsunami India could have posted around 200-220 lead.  If that happened Sami, Bumrah, Yadab and Ashwin could have reversed the tide. 

But what lotted could not be blotted.  True the wicket appeared to grow a bit faster on the third morning. There was definitely a team plan worked out with Australians having their back to the wall. The line of attack changed. More fuller deliveries just short of length looking for edges. Pain took 5 catches behind the wicket. I am not when none of the Indian batsmen failed reaching double digit. India lost 8 for 27 in 15 overs.  Hazelwood achieved his best test figure taking 5/8 in 5 overs. Cummins got 4/21.  India looked defeated, disgraced and humiliated. Injury to Sami rubbed salt 

Well the wicket had uneven bounce but there can be no excuses for such abysmal performance. We are sure Indian press and Social Media would find some rats in Virat -Rohit liking disliking saga. Ishant Sharma was greatly missed at Adelaide as well. 

Australian batsmen having a night of agony had great sigh of relief. Greatly relaxed Joe Burns raced to 51 not out getting out of Jail. The opening partnership raced to 70 before Wade got himself run out. Australia raced to 1-0 lead after Labuchagne threw his wicket unnecessarily. Burns earned his long-awaited half century striking a 6.

We are not sure how much mental scare this melt down of Indian batting would leave behind. With Virat not available for the rest of the series Indian batting would struggle to reverse the tide at MCG for sure. 

Australian pacers have found the right line and length for Indian batsmen. With none left for counter attacking in absence Of VK and Rohit Shrama at MCG Australia would leaving moving further ahead. David Warner would return . May be Wade would stay on and Travis Head would leave. Indian options are Rahul replacing Kohli. Shuman Gill may replace Shaw. Indians off course have a few rookie pacers to replace Sami.
