Strong Pakistan bowling attack finally paid dividends. After losing the first test at Karachi desperate South Africa was shaping up well on day five of the Rawalpindi test in the chase of 370. 

At one stage was 5/164. Taking the second new ball Hasan Ali (5/ 60) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (4/51) exploiting the wear and tear of the wicket triggered the collapse had South Africa wrapping up the innings for 274. Winning the test by 94 runs Pakistan earned a rare series against strong South Africa. Hasan taking 10 wickets in the test was adjudged player of the match. Rapidly improving Wicket Keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan won the player of the series.

We know Pakistan was forbidden from international cricket for a long time. Only in the recent past International cricket returned to Pakistan. This series win against higher ranked South Africa will auger well for Pakistan. Pakistan always possesses strong bowling attack. But for a while Pakistan is not finding world-class batsman. In this series Babar could not do much. Great witnessing Fawad Alam settling well. Rizwan and Faheem giving depth and diversity to Pakistan batting. We feel Pakistan cricket gained a lot from visits to England and New Zealand.

We do not think South Africa could deliver to their potential in the series. They were caught off guard in Karachi. They came strongly bouncing back at Rawalpindi. But Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi bowling exceedingly well snatched the match from the grasp of South Africa.
