We would not say that any proper change would lead to Bangladesh winning the first T20 match against formidable New Zealand. But definitely Bangladesh could have competed much better with right choice of players. 

New Zealand is now arguably enjoying the best time of their cricket his with plenty of top-quality players for tweeting in all formats of cricket. It does not matter whether Williamson Taylor, Trent Boult, Mat Henry, Michel Santner are released from national duty for playing IPL in India. They still can rock any team with Tim Southee, Lokie Fergusson, James Neesham and Ish Sodhi. They still have plenty of quality batsmen like Devon Conway, Will Young, and Daryl Mitchell along with Martin Guptil can blast any attack on their backyard. But my concern is Bangladesh did not appear with their best choice team in the first T 20. 

Why Bangladesh Did Not Play With Their Best Bowling Attack?
The most impressive part if any of Bangladesh performance in ODI white wash was Taskin and Rubel rattling New Zealand batting in the third ODI. What made Bangladesh team management in letting the warm the bench? Why Mustafiz struggling all the way with his line and length in all three ODI matches could not be rested? Blooding Shoriful was all right. But he could have performed much better bowling with Taskin and Rubel. Why Bangladesh had to play Mahedy Hasan at small ground of Hamilton where off spinners have hardly any chance of success. Bangladesh should have appeared with four pacers ad definitely played Taskin and Rubel. Taking Nasum and Afif was a perfect decision. But why Afiff was not given few overs?  We understand that there was no choice but sticking with Liton after shoulder injury (?) of Mushfique. But why Soumya played? Why Shanto could not be given an opportunity in his place. Bangladesh did not take any lesson from the comprehensive white wash of ODI series. 

The ground fielding improved a lot and Mahmudullah handled his resources to the best of his ability. Bangladesh batting had to deal with business-as-usual early loss of Liton, Soumya. How long Bangladesh cricket would continue investing on Soumya? People say even Mustafiz could be better batsman now if same amount of attention was given to him for improving his batting. For heaven's sake try others in his place. Naim looked impressive counter attacking but he must learn how to build an innings. Afif was very impressive and we knew Saifuddin would deliver. But Bangladesh middle order got melted to leg spin of willy craftsman Ish Sodhi. This was bound to happen as Bangladesh is the unique team in world cricket who cares little about finding quality leg spinners. How can they play quality leg spin. They could not read googlies at all.  

Bangladesh did not appear with “Horses For The Courses”. The consequence was suffering 66 runs humiliating disgrace. 

What Can Bangladesh Do Now? 

Winning any match is well neigh impossible now. But for the remaining two matches at Napier and Auckland Bangladesh must appear with their best team. If Mushfique recovers from so called shoulder injury he must be back for his principal role as pivot of Bangladesh batting. He must keep also as Liton is batting very poorly and does not deserve any more chance in this tour at least.  We are unsure whether Mosaddeq is match fit.

Sheikh Naim, Najmul Hasan, Mohammad Mithun, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riad, Afif Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam / Mosaddeq  

We do not say that this team would win matches but would definitely perform much better.
