The steadiest performer of IPL CSK returned to winning mode in IPL 2021 with a big bang. A relatively unknown Deepak Chahar rocking the power hitters of PBKS (Agarwal, Gayle, Hooda and Pooran) played the key role for restricting PBKS to a modest 106/8 in their allotted overs. CSK has roller coaster ride in scoring 107/4 and winning big by 6 wickets. CSK. The Wankhede wicket behaved unusually. It was gripping and stopping. But that did not mean that strong PBKS batting would crumble like that. Deepak Chahar undoubtedly exploited the condition smartly. He swung the ball, varied his pace and used the bouncer with accuracy.  We are sure Chahar would come under strong consideration for India in ICC  T20 world cup. 

MS Dhoni winning the toss elected to field. KL Rahul taking risk for a quick single with ball in the hands of sharp Jadeja paid the penalty of getting out in the very first over. Chahar started swinging prodigiously. He ran riot in PBKS batting. Aagrwal, Gayle, Hooda and Pooran were outwitted within wink of the eye. Suddenly PBKS was reduced to 5/26 by the 7th over. Shahrukh Khan and Jhye Richardson tried to resurrect as the outstanding bowling spell of Chahar (4/13) was over. But as soon as Moeen Ali cleaned up Richardson none else could stay with Shahrukh Kahn (47). PBKS could score only 106/8. 

The chase of the modest score can often bring downfall of a team playing careless cricket. But CSK is too experienced team not falling into that trap. CSK lost early wicket. But Faf du Plessis (36) and Moeen Ali (46) batting sensibly added 66 for the second wicket partnership. Mohammad Sami struck two body blows removing Raina and Rayadu . But that was too little too less. CSK cruised to 107/4 winning the match by 6 wickets. The win took CSK to the second position behind RCB. It is too early but CSK appeared to be adjusting to condition early.
