PBKS 132/1 (KL Rahul 60*, Chris Gayle 43*)
MI 131/6 in 17.4 Overs (Rohit Sharma 63, Suriya Kumar Yadav 33, Mohammad Sami 2/21, Ravi Bishnoi 2/21)

PBKS won by 9 wickets
Player of The Match: KL Rahul

On Chennai wicket all teams are struggling in IPL 2021 for scoring runs freely. The success draught of reigning champions continued as they were rocked by PBKS yesterday losing the match by 9 wickets. Batting first the power packed MI batting crumbled like cookies getting restricted to 131/6 in allotted overs. None other than Rohit Sharma 63, and Suriya Kumar Yadav 33 could combat very disciplined and incisive PBKS bowling. PBKS cakewalked scoring 132/1 in 17.4 overs.

MI batsmen found it tough going to negotiate very accurate and penetrative PBKS attack on a slugging Chennai wicket while batting first, excepting champion Indian batsman Rohit Sharma (63) and budding genius Suriya Kumar Yadav (33) no other MI batsmen could deal with PBKS bowling. All PBKS bowlers bowled tight and never let the grip losing. 131/6 on this wicket was way below average.

Chasing this target on the wicket required sensible batting. Rahul (60*) ably led the chase and universal boss CH Gayle (43*) batting sensibly made it cakewalk for PBKS. Winning big by 9 wickets PBKS consolidated their position in the points table. MI is not looking good this year so far losing 3 of the five matches this year.
