Another ABD Special Earns RCB Win In a Photo Finish [photo collected]

IPL 14 :2021 22nd Match Played at Narendra Modi Stadium ,Ahmedabad
RCB VS DC
RCB 171/5 in 20 Overs (AB de Villiers 75* , Rajat Patidar 31, Glen Maxwell 25 , )
DC 170/4 in 20 Overs (Rishab Pant 58*, Simron Hetmeyer 53* , Marcus Stoinis 22)
RCB Won by 1 Run.
Player of the match: AB de Villiers

The clash of the titans of IPL 2021 between two leading teams RCB and DC was yet another Bollywood Blockbuster. Unbelievable stroke play by Mr. 360 degree ABD for RCB and Caribbean Pocket Rocket Shimron Hetmeyer made it a hair raising thrilling encounter. RCB riding on the explosive unbeaten 75 off 42 deliveries by ABD scored 171/5 . DC almost made it through a smashing unbeaten 53 off 25 balls by Simron Hetmeyer. Had his captain Rishav Pant was a bit more enterprising in his 48 balls unbeaten innings of 58 the innings of ABD . Perhaps it was not destined to be like that. Hence RCB won by just 1 run . 6 was required for a win on the last ball of the match. DC got four. People say IPL matches are entertaining persons in great distress all across India . There is some truth in that. But honestly money spent in IPL must be redirected to the battle against killer CODID.

There was very little to choose among the teams . What ABD delivered for RCB almost similar was done by Hetmeyer . But even for Hetmeyer ABD stands taller than him in all aspect at least now. What ABD can deliver single handed it usually takes at least two to equal. Unfortunately Pant partnering him on the night could not do that. DC fell reaching the target only just.

ABD came to bat as RCB innings was limping at 3/60 at the 9th over. He started his blasting with no caring. His hurricane innings of unbeaten 75 comprising of 3 fours and five sixes was of 42 balls only. The only other contributions of RCB innings was 31 from Patidar and 25 of Glen Maxwell. Such was the dominance of ABD. World cricket has lost the gem of a cricketer from his untimely self exile from international cricket.

Like RCB the innings of DC was also limping till the 8th over with the score looking 3/47. Marcus Stoinis joined his captain Rishav Pant. This pair injected some urgency into the proceedings. But Stoinis leaving in the 13th over with score at 92/4 left a lot to be done by Pant and Hetmeyer. The pair started its action straightaway. The little Caribbean was in murderous mood. He struck 2 fours and 4 sixes in his innings of unbeaten 53 in 25 deliveries. But his partner Rishab Pant was a bit slow by his own wonderful standard scoring unbeaten 58 of 48. Still DC went so near. The last ball of the match required a six when Pant got a four. DC went down fighting by 1 run.  It was a poetic justice that ABD’s excellent work was not undone.
