Sports journalists on Tuesday protested the harassment and arrest of Prothom Alo's senior reporter Rozina Islam.

She was harassed for five hours on Monday at secretariat before being taken to the Shahbag Police Station last night. 

The reporter was taken to jail today after a Dhaka court had rejected a remand plea of police this morning. 

Sports journalists staged a sit-in protest while going to cover national football team's practice session at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the morning. 

Reporters, photo journalists from various media houses including print, electronic and online media sat at the athletic turf for five minutes with their equipment lying in front of them. 

They also condemned the incident holding a banner with a statement 'Journalism in not a crime.'

Besides, the journalists demanded immediate release of Rozina Islam apart from punishment to those involved.
