Mushfiqur Rahim struck a flamboyant hundred as Bangladesh registered a massive 103-run victory  via the D/L method in the second one-day international to clinch their maiden series win over Sri Lanka in Dhaka on Tuesday.

The visitors’ innings was restricted to 141 for 9 in their stipulated 40 overs in a rain-affected match that brought joy to millions of Bangladeshi fans.

Danushka Gunathilaka scored the highest 24 runs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman bagged three wickets each while Shakib Al Hasan got two wickets.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh skipper Tamim Iqbal elected to bat first after winning the toss.

Tigers have lost their all wickets to manage 246 runs in 48.1 overs as Mushfiqur Rahim scored 125 runs with ten 4s while Mahmudullah earned 41 runs.

Sri Lankan bowler Lakshan Sandakan and Dushmantha Chameera bagged three wickets while Isuru Udana took two wickets.

The Tigers won the opening game by 33 runs on Sunday.

The last ODI is slated to be played on May 28.
