England VS Sri Lanka Match Played as Abu Jayed Stadium Sarjah, UAE.
England 163/4 (Jos Buttler 100*, Eoin Morgan 40, Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva 3/21)
Sri Lanka 137 All Out in 19 Overs (Hasaranga de Silva 34, Dasun Sanaka 26, Rajapaksa 26.  Moeen Ali 2/15, Adil Rashid 2/19, Chris Jordan 2/24)
England Won By 26 Runs.
Player Of The Match: Jos Buttler

In the battle of the Lions, England was the winner yesterday in the UAE desert. On slow gripping Sharjah wicket flamboyant English dasher Jos Buttler scoring the first century carried his team England beyond any others reach in group A of the Super 12.

Winning four in four English Lions strongly stepped into the semifinal of ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Others in the group would now vie to decide who joins the bridal party from the group. Batting first on a griping surface Buttler had to anchor the English innings against quality bowling and smart fielding of the young dynamic effervescent Lankans. England scored 163/4. Buttler with a last ball six remained not out on 100. Captain Morgan scored 40. Rest of the batsmen could not even reach double figures.

Against very organized and diverse English attack Sri Lanka could go as far as 137 before getting all out. England winning by 26 runs became the first all clear team ensuring semifinal berth. The battle for position two is theoretically open to South Africa, Australia, Sri Lanka and West Indies. But most likely either South Africa or Australia get through unless something really dramatic happens.

England Looking Set For A Final Crack:

ICC ODI Champion England with fuss is looking ready for crack in the business session. It played all four games so far in the super 12 with a purpose and having won all convincingly lived up to the pre tournament favorite tags. Two other pre tournament favorites India and West Indies are looking down the barrel. England has all ends covered. They have explosive batsmen all the way down to late order.

Pace or spin they have quality bowling attack and are not cracking. Of all their matches yesterday against Sri Lanka on a turning and gripping track they endured the challenge for adaptability of Buttler (100*) (otherwise blaster) and Skillful Morgan (40). England was reduced to 3/35 by the 6th over. From there on Buttler and Morgan rallied the English lions with 132 runs 4th wicket partnership. Buttler played a flamboyant yet controlled innings of 100 not out (first three figures so far in the tournament) in 67 deliveries. His century came in the last ball of the innings with his sixth over boundary. Morgan scored 40. Hasranga de Silva taking 3/21 again let out a statement that another world-class all-rounder has emerged in the world stage.

163/4 was a good score given the nature of the wicket. Sri Lanka struggled all the way against very organized and disciplined English attack. Chris Jordan (2/24) and Adil Rashid (2/19) cramped them early on and Moeen Ali (2/15) put the icing on the cake. Hasharanga de Silva (34) and Dasun Shanka 26) at one stage with 53 runs partners threatened creating an upset. But England was too good to extinguish the spark.

With England well and truly into semi final now it is to be seen who joins them from among Australia, South Africa or even West Indies? The possibilities of one of the former two is most likely.
