South Africa signed off from T20 world cup with a brilliant win against tournament favorite England in an exciting match by 10 runs. Yet the win was not enough to earn them a semi final berth. Three teams England, Australia and South Africa all with 4 wins in 5 super 12 matches finished on 8 points. But South Africa falling behind on NRR had to exit. The big win of Australia against Bangladesh finally got Australia through. On the day in earlier match Australia also won against West Indies with a margin that was enough for them for maintaining NRR above South Africa.
Batting first South Africa scored imposing 189/2. Even that score was almost chased had not Kagiso Rabada in a probing last over detoured England taking a hat trick. England could manage 179/8 losing by 10 runs. They lost their unbeaten run but finished on top.
ICC ODI Champion England started the tournament as one of the favorites .During the COVID England is first team organizing international cricket creating excellent biosecurity protocol. They produced enough quality players for all formats. England for different reasons lost the services of two of their top players Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes for the world cup. Yet they had so many quality players produced through very organized cricket system that they could put together horses for the courses .Before the last match winning all four early on they comfortably secured a berth for the semi finals.
On the other hand the tussle for the second spot from the group was between South Africa and Australia. The task was difficult for South Africa as they met red hot England .Australia however met out of Color West Indies. Young Energetic South Africa managed subduing England by 10 runs. But the margin was not enough to surpass Australia as they won quiet comfortably against West Indies.
Off the three venues of UAE Sarjah wickets had runs . The match was high scoring. South Africa batting brilliantly scored impressive 189/2 . Two of the ever improving batsmen Rassie van der Dussen (94*) and Aiden Markram (52*) producing excellent unbeaten 103 runs third wicket partnership ensured that they had enough to challenge even the strong English batting unit. England in their chase was going along merrily with contributions from a few. Moeen Ali (37), David Malan (33), Liam Livingston (28) and Jos Buttller (26) all scored. But none could score big enough to get the team across. Still they were on the hunt till the last over when Kagiso Rabada with three great deliveries earned a hat trick. Chris Woakes, Eoin Morgan and Chris Jordan were blown away in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd balls of the very last over .England fell by 10 runs. South Africa could interrupt the winning run of England but the margin of victory could not carry them through. Yet this young team did enough in this world cup signaling their  bright future.
