Australia VS West Indies Played at Dubai International Stadium on 6 November 2021
Australia 161 /2 in 16.2 Overs (David Warner 89, Mitchel Marsh 53)
West Indies 157/7 (Keiron Pollard 44, Elvin Lewis 29, Shimron Hetmeyer 27, Chris Gayle 15, Josh Hazlewood 4/39)
Australia Won by 8 wickets
Player of the Match: David Warner

Australia did not let reigning champions West Indies sign off with pride. They overwhelmed them beating by 8 wickets. West Indies struggle in the tournament continued as they could post 157/7 in allotted overs which Australia overhauled easily scoring 161/2 in 16.2 0vers.

This match would be remembered as the swansong of Universe Boss Christopher Henry Gayle. His chequred international career witnessed his trademark sixes in his brief 9 balls 15 runs. World Cricket would remember this master blaster. No ground was big enough for this sweet singing bird of World Cricket.

The final day the final matches of the Group death of Super 12 presented great challenge for Australia and South Africa. Australia had a little advantage. They had a better NRR and they were playing against off color reigning champions West Indies. South Africa had to appear against inform red-hot England. Both teams won their matches. But Australia won big by 8 wickets and South Africa won by 10 runs. England, Australia and South Africa all finished on 8 points. With better run rates England and Australia go through to the semifinals while South Africa returns home.

Australia is not known to be a great T20 team. They were not doing well off late in any format of the game. None actually gave them much value. They were not among the tournament favorites. They also did not have a great build up losing T20 series against West Indies and Bangladesh in bilateral contest. They were also placed in the group of death having 6 of the 10 ICC Full member teams. England, West Indies were tipped above them. They also did not start well losing to England. But as the tournament progressed they started getting stronger coming to their own. Blowing away pathetic Bangladesh they consolidated their position and winning big against West Indies yesterday they forced their entry into the business round. World Cricket is well aware that Australia knows how to finish a big tournament.

Winning the toss Australia put West Indies into bat. It was extremely difficult for West Indies to confront World Class Australian attack. But all were eager to see whether CHG tee off one final time. Yes, he produced two of his trademark sixes but was cleaned up trying a third. Australians bowling with aggression and fiddling sharp restricted West Indies to 157/7. Keiron Pollard (44). Elvin Lewis (29) Shimron Hetmeyer (27) were major contributors. Josh Hazelwood (4/39) was the main tormentor.

Australia like the match against Bangladesh what they needed doing. David Warner (89*) played an innings of character. His unbeaten innings of 89 in 56 deliveries featured 9 fours and 4 sixes. Mitch Marsh was his partner in destruction scoring 53 in 32 deliveries. Australia won big by 8 wickets. They would possibly meet Pakistan in the semi final.  World cricket knows Australia is always tough nut to crack in business session.
