ICT Adviser Nahid Islam said on Sunday that actions would be taken against those involved in internet shutdowns.
He said: "Actions will be taken against those involved in internet shutdowns. We will not condone corruption. We will work to build an ICT sector reliant on youth and listen to the youth."
He made comments on Sunday, his first day at the Secretariat while speaking with journalists.
During this time, he said: "Internet rights are human rights. It must not be violated."
On Thursday, Nahid Islam was sworn in as an advisor to the interim government, serving as the key coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement.
Later, he was appointed an adviser to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology.
