BTCL to introduce high-speed Internet from next year: Raju

NARSINGDI: High-speed Internet service with multimedia facility would be introduced under the state-sector telecommunications from next year.

Post and Telecommunications Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju unveiled the plan here Saturday, saying that satellite television service would be available on with Internet. 

While inaugurating Teletalk Customer Care Centre at Narsingdi Sadar upazila, the minister also informed the function that Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd (BTCL) this time made a Tk 7.5 crore higher annual profit than the previous government’s times.

“The amount of profit would increase in the future,” he said. 

Among others, Deputy Commissioner Amrito Baroi, Police Super Dr Akkash Uddin Bhuiyan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Momena Ahmed and Additional Police Super Zahid Hasan attended the programme.
