32 CPUs seized in the city for piracy

DHAKA: A joint force of RAB and Anti-Piracy team Thursady seized some 32 computers for allegedly producing pirated audio and video CDs from a city shop.

“The law enforcers raided the electronics market of Karwan Bazar and confiscated the computers and CDs,” said an official of law enforcers. 

Deputy Director of RAB-2 Major Irshad told banglanews that they raided the electronics market at around 12 noon and seized the PCs from 32 shops.

Chief Coordinator of the Music Association of Bangladesh, Major (retd) Lutfur Rahman was present during the operation. 

The 32 Central Processing Units (CPUs) contained pirated audio-video CDs.

“We would take legal actions against the alleged shop owners,” said Major Irshad.
