Gold prices drop by Tk1,750 per bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) on Sunday (August 17) announced a reduction in gold prices by Tk1,750 per bhori.

According to a Bajus press release, the price cut comes as a result of a decline in the local market value of pure gold.

The Bajus took the decision today to adjust the prices with the international market, said the press release.

From tomorrow, the price of each bhori will be Tk 99,027, down from Tk 1, 00,777 earlier.

On July 20 this year, each bhori of gold price in Bangladesh cross the Tk 100,000-mark for the first time.

Jewellers hiked gold prices by Tk 2,333 per bhori on July 20 which set a new record, with each bhori priced at Tk 1, 00,777 in Bangladesh.

Earlier on March 18, the gold price in the local market was jumped by Tk 7,698 to record Tk 98,794 per bhori.
