The government has set the prices of eggs, potato and onion for the first time in the local market.

The price of egg has been fixed at Tk 12 per piece at the retail level.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi announced the new fixed price of eggs at a press conference held at the commerce ministry on Thursday (September 14).

The minister also said that the government has also decided to allow import of eggs if the price in the local market does not come down.

The government has reduced the soybean oil price to Tk 169 per litre from Tk 174.

The price of potato was also fixed at Tk 35-Tk 36 per kg and price of onion at Tk 64-Tk 65 per kg.
