Stocks witness fall Sunday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Sunday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over 52 points only to stand at 4,697 at the close on the second trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 121,248 with volume of transactions at Tk 5744 million.

Of the issues traded, 63 advanced, 205 declined and 23 remained unchanged.

GP topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 324 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were OLYMPIC, MPETROLEUM, PADMAOIL, SQURPHARMA, HEIDELBCEM, BSCCL, JAMUNAOIL, BSC and SINGERBD.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9,191 by dropping over 95 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 47 gained, 178 declined and 11 remained unchanged.
