Gold prices in Bangladesh have set a new record, with 22-carat gold increased by Tk3,243 to Tk1,54,525 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring announced the revised rates after a meeting on Thursday.
This latest increase comes just three days after 22-carat gold had already hit a historic high of Tk1.51 lakh per bhori.
According to new price, 22-carat gold Tk13,248 per gram, while 21-carat gold costs Tk12,646 per gram.
The price of 18-carat gold has been set at Tk10,839 per gram, and traditional gold is priced at Tk8,934 per gram.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged, with 22-carat silver priced at Tk221 per gram, 21-carat at Tk210 per gram, 18-carat at Tk181 per gram, and traditional silver at Tk136 per gram.
A press release signed by committee chairman Masudur Rahman confirmed that the new prices will take effect from Friday.
