Stocks witness fall Wednesday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday.

The key index of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX, shed over six points only to stand at 4,6 97 at the close on the second trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 79,487 with volume of transactions at Tk 3,546 million.

 Of the issues traded, 106 advanced, 144 declined and 40 remained unchanged.

LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 223 million having changed hands.

 The other turnover leaders were SQURPHARMA, OLYMPIC, BSCCL, MPETROLEUM, GP, UCBL, HEIDELBCEM, IDLC and PADMAOIL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 9,221 by dropping over zero points.  

Out of the issues traded, 78 gained, 110 declined and 26 remained unchanged.
